Congratulations to two CHIPAC Performance Sailors Matthew Butterworth and Josh Davies who have been recently been selected for the ITCA Topper (GBR) Junior Development Program and Welsh National Topper Squad respectively.
This is a great achievement as both have only competed for one year on the nationwide circuit.

Siwan moves into the 4.7 boat as one of only 2 girls.
Aimee continues in the Radial squad but additionally she has been invited to attend Team GB transitional Training camps where the top 40 radial sailors in the country transitioning will be monitored over the next 3 months for selection to the RYA Volvo Team GB Transitional Laser Squad where only 12 places are up for grabs.

Some of the CHIPAC assistant dinghy instructors, Bryn, James, Clive and Nick B braved the cold again this weekend with Gareth and Richard instructing in readiness for their D/I pre-assessment.
It was made all the more frustrating with less than 3 knots struggling to power up the 4.7, Radial and toppers..
Aimee and Siwan were in Pwllheli as well with the Welsh National Laser Radial and 4.7 squad training, in preparation for the start of new race qualifying season 8 weeks away....
The squaddies werent going any faster than the new D/Is so there is hope for them yet ( The D/Is not the Squaddies !!!).
They had a Skandia GB Team sailor coaching with them dressed all in white...we havent found who it was yet but we are calling him the ' STIG'
Read Aimees report on the GB Transitional Training Camps.
We are pleased to announce the publication of the CHIPAC 2009 year book. A printed copy is available in the club.
This magazine highlights some of the successes and developments that have happened in CHIPAC in 2009.
CHIPAC has expanded greatly since it started in 1994 and we now have many young local sailors competing in international events, but possibly more important taking advantage of the fantastic sailing opportunities available at Pwllheli Sailing Club.
Looking forward to 2010 we will undoubtedly be helping more children to sail as a number of people have volunteered to become dinghy instructors.
